This symposium presents the results, progress, and projections of the FONDEF project ID23I10359, focused on the formulation and clinical evaluation of a triple-action nanoemulgel for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. The event offers a space to learn about the scientific foundations of nanoemulgel development and its therapeutic potential, as well as to discuss its applications in dermocosmetics, fostering exchanges among researchers, students, and professionals in the field.

Dr. Leda Guzmán Maluenda

Dr. Leda Guzmán Maluenda

PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Complutense University of Madrid, 1997). Postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Biotechnology (Germany) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Full Professor at the Institute of Chemistry and Head of the Biomedicine and Biocatalysis Laboratory at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (PUCV) since 2007.
A researcher at the Institute of Public Health (ISP) until 2006, she has led numerous public and private projects on natural antimicrobial and antitumor agents, with applications in cancer, atopic dermatitis, and oral health.
More than 40 international publications, book chapters, and 3 patents on bioactive compounds.
She has supervised more than 40 undergraduate and graduate students. She teaches Biochemistry and PhD programs in Science (Chemistry, Biotechnology) at PUCV and UTFSM.
International cooperation with the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Desert King Chile.
Member of the Chilean Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (since 1998), the Chilean Society of Cosmetic Chemists (since 2023), and the Editorial Board of Current Issues in Molecular Biology. She has been a visiting professor in Berlin.

Dr. Antonio Guglielmetti Valenzuela

Dr. Antonio Guglielmetti Valenzuela

Medical Surgeon (University of Chile, 1985), postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine (University of Valparaíso, 1988) and Dermatology (University of Chile, 1991, with honors).
Professor at the University of Valparaíso and the University of Los Andes. Medical Director of the Skin Medical Center (Viña del Mar) and dermatologist at Clínica Bupa Reñaca.
Extensive experience in clinical dermatology and university teaching since the 1990s, particularly in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Valparaíso.
Psoriasis, alopecia areata, hidradenitis suppurativa, and atopic dermatitis. Principal investigator in Phase II and III clinical trials with international pharmaceutical companies.
Interested in the skin microbiome and antimicrobial peptides for dermatological pathologies. He has published studies on melittin in atopic dermatitis and microbiota in acne and dermatitis.
Member of the Chilean Society of Dermatology (SOCHIDERM). Author of numerous national and international publications, he has established himself as a leading figure in clinical dermatology and translational research in Chile.

Luis Pizarro Vásquez

Pharmaceutical Chemist and Bachelor of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Chile, 1992). Commercial Engineer (Uniacc University).
Founder and CEO of Santepharma, a business group dedicated to pharmaceutical packaging, cosmetics, medical devices, and drug distribution. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry, with notable positions such as Production Manager at L’Oréal Chile (1997–2008) and Operations Manager at Garden House Laboratories (2008–2009). Founder of the consulting firm QPro Productive Solutions.
Co-founder and Vice President of the Chilean Scientific Society of Medical Devices. He participates in international bodies such as the Medical Device SME Initiative (APEC) and the Technical Regulatory Committee of the Pacific Alliance.
Recognized for the development of cosmetic and dermatological formulations, integrating science, innovation, regulation, and business management. A key figure in the advancement of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry in Chile.

Dr. Daniel Moraga Espinoza

Dr. Daniel Moraga Espinoza

Pharmacist (University of Valparaíso, 2010) and Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacy and Drug Delivery (University of Texas at Austin, 2018).
Assistant professor at the University of Valparaíso, adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin, director of the Master’s Program in Bioactivity of Natural and Synthetic Products, and Research Associate at the CInBIO Center (University of Valparaíso).
Specialist in pulmonary and nasal drug delivery with controlled-release systems, and in topical therapies for skin infections. He coordinates the only laboratory in Chile dedicated to the development and characterization of inhalation devices.
Scientific advisor to ANAMED on guidelines on inhaler bioequivalence for the pharmaceutical industry.
Author of multiple articles, reviews, book chapters, and patent applications on inhalation drug delivery systems.
